Originally a Danish creation, the concept of cohousing struggled to gain popularity in its country of origin for years. That is, until a film was made that explained its merits and the way it enhanced people's lives. Now, documentary filmmaker John de Graaf has created a meaningful and honest film about cohousing for the United States.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS explores the concept of cohousing as expressed through the first-hand observations of the residents of four cohousing communities—including the first one in the United States—and observations by architect Charles Durrett, who brought the concept to the U.S. from Denmark.
